If you work in any industry where there is a possibility that you may have to use lawful physical force to restrain someone and or detain somebody then the use of handcuffs should be something to consider any manual restraint carries risk and the detention of an unwilling person is extremely difficult and very dangerous , the use of mechanical restraints such as handcuffs stop any further violence from happening , prevent the detained person from struggling hurting themselves and others and more importantly it allows a person to be adequately controlled preventing lots of people trying to control that person and increasing the risk of breathing related difficulties through positional asphyxia a recognised cause of death.
